Our History - The society was established in October 1986 to stimulate interest in the planting, harvesting and uses of herbs; to share information and experiences in growing herbs in the Low Country. Until 2013 we maintained the herbs beds at the Rice Museum in Georgetown but this direction has changed to focus on other opportunities to sponsor and cultivate interest in herbs within the community.

Meetings - We meet the second Tuesday of the month from September to May. We have a luncheon for our December meeting and a Spring field trip and end the year in May with a picnic. Currently meeting locations vary and are noted in the meeting information below. Our program committee works each year to put together interesting and informative programs on herbs with speakers, workshops and demonstrations.

The website for the Low Country Herb Society is now closed. Please look for us on Facebook (Low Country Herb Society in the Facebook site), or write to us at sclchsnews@gmail.com for meeting information, etc..
