We took a ferry from Nova Scotia to Prince Edward Island. This was an interesting experience in itself.

Our first stop on Prince Edward Island was at St. Peter's Inn where we ate halibut for lunch.

At our next stop, Rob explained the intracies of lobster pots; how they work and how they are made. Apparently they are replaced every 3 to 5 years.

Can you believe Rob talked us into dipping our feet in the North Atlantic in Canada in September? This guy can really talk!
In any case, we survived and made it to Green Gables and The Habitation.

The Habitation was fascinating. Our guide was a decendant of the original Acadians who settled near here. Notice his wooden shoes, or 'sabots'.
He said that wooden shoes were used by the poor for many years. Factory workers would throw their sabots into machinery to protest working conditions.
This led to the word 'sabotage'.

Along the way we saw two amazing scenes; 8 mile long Confederation Bridge and a Tidal Bore.

This amazing bridge is the world's longest bridge over ice-covered waters. Click on the link for more information.
It was an amazing coincidence that we saw a Tidal Bore -- the only Tauck Tour of the year to see one.
Tidal Bores are seen on only two rivers in Nova Scotia. Since they are caused by the tides, they only occur at certain times
and we happened to be eating lunch just as one came rushing by. See a video with the link above.
