This year, Heritage tried a new format for its New Year's Eve Party. Yes, there was still Champagne flowing at midnight, accompanied by noisemakers run by senior citizens wearing silly hats. The new "wrinkle" was fake gambling with play money. That seemed to be a big hit with everyone. To finish off the evening, about 10:30 PM a great spread of food was served.
(For all those who asked, the sandwiches came from the Village Deli in the Village Shops area, south of the Hammock Shops.)

Party Goers had their choice of Blackjack, Roulette or Craps.

The key ingredients in making the games successful were our dedicated "Dealers".
Doug and Steve Kent
The Dynamic Duo!!!! Croupiers extraordinaire Doug D and Steve L kept the action cranking along all evening on the craps table. Judging by the hooting and hollering in there they did a fabulous job! We call these guys the "Heritage Bookends" Kent M takes a welcome break. Kent served as our technical expert on the games -- How to set them up, what the odds were and how to handle the players. Without his help we'd have barely muddled through. Thanks, Ken
Judy & Penny Forrest
Judy D and Penny A....your hostesses with the most-est. From food to decorating and "schmoozing", these gals did it. The all important money man....Forrest makes sure everyone gets their share and is ready should a "loan" be needed.
Bill T Ann B John C
"Music Man" Bill T provided all the great "lounge" music for us. Ann B mastered the "Art of the Spin" running the Roulette Wheel!! Thanks. John C -- The Blackjack man. He was so popular we had to rotate players.

Not surprisingly, we ate well. All evening, there were small snacks, soft drinks and whatever hard drinks individuals brought with them. Then around 10:30, out came the serious food. Roast Beef, Ham and Turkey sandwiches, Cheesecake and Cream Puffs!

New Year's Eve can't go by without silly hats and noise makers -- Right??

At Midnight, everyone turned into pumpkins. Actually, we watched the ball drop and wished each other "Happy New Year".
